To find out more about the support on offer from our dedicated Inclusion team please click here or contact us at Outreach@merseyside.police.uk About our PCDA Programme This is an exciting opportunity for individuals of all backgrounds to obtain a degree whilst working and earning a full salary as a Student Police Officer. The programme, which is delivered in partnership with Liverpool John Moores University, lasts for three years and includes classroom delivery, practical application and tutorship. Your time will be varied between on-the-job training and active frontline operational duties, academic modules, course work and exams. Full details about the learning programme can be found our PCDA information page here. If you believe you may need additional educational support then the programme offers access to both classroom based and work based learning assessments with a view to potentially providing supportive reasonable adjustments to assist you with your learning. Such support depending upon your individual needs, may include (but is not limited to) I.T software (such as Dragon speech recognition or Texthelp read write), coloured screen overlays or additional time for completing assessments. The sooner you inform us that you may need such additional support then the quicker we may be able to put such support in place for you. You will be asked to declare any such requirements as part of the recruitment process. For police officer roles such assistance can be made available from the 'National Sift' assessment part of the recruitment process onwards. Whilst we currently don't offer a direct detective entry route for non-degree holders, please be aware, albeit vacancies exist and after completion of your probationary period, you will be able to request participation on our internal CID AIDES programme should you wish to embark on this career pathway to become a detective. It's not always easy, it's not always predictable, but the sense of reward and excitement is like nothing else.
We only require evidence of Maths and English Language GCSEs Grade C/4 and above or Functional Skills equivalent for this role.
