Full Job Description

We're looking to recruit x2 Policy Advice and Research Officers to join the Population health team, within our Communications and Policy directorate. The population health team leads work on a wide range of policy issues focused on improving health and reducing inequalities, including on the key drivers of ill health such as obesity and tobacco, mental health, climate change as well as Covid-19.

As a Policy Advice and Research Officer you will:

Support the delivery of key projects within the team, supporting their line manager and Senior Policy Advisers by undertaking research and analysis on a variety of policy issues. The 2 successful candidates will provide policy advice, help to develop policy recommendations and draft written reports.

This is a hybrid role with a mix of working at home and from our Central London office. (Min 1 day per week)

To be successful as a Policy Advice and Research Officer you'll ideally have

· Previous experience of working in a policy environment

· Proven ability to work with data and an ability to conduct research and analysis

· Good working knowledge and proficiency with MS Excel

· Excellent written skills with experience of drafting policy reports and briefings

· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and convey information in a succinct way

· Good analytical skills and an eye for detail

· An understanding of health policy issues would be desirable
