RPS, as the professional leadership body for pharmacy, is supporting the UK Pharmacy Professional Leadership Advisory Board's (UKPPLAB) in their recruitment and appointment of a new role of Policy Lead to join and report to the UKPPLAB's Secretariat, As the Policy Lead, you'll be at the forefront of policy development, supporting the UKPPLAB in its mission to revolutionise UK pharmacy professional leadership. Reporting to the Head of Secretariat, you'll navigate complex relationships and collaborate with stakeholders across the healthcare spectrum to deliver impactful change.,

  • Lead policy development to support the Board's work.


  • Drive forward a step change for UK pharmacy professional leadership.


  • Collaborate with national stakeholders, including NHS, regulators, and academia.


  • Contribute to the implementation of the UK Commission on Pharmacy Professional Leadership's recommendations


  • About UKPPLAB:

    The UK Pharmacy Professional Leadership Advisory Board is spearheading the creation of an inclusive federation of UK pharmacy Professional Leadership Bodies (PLBs) and Specialist Professional Groups (SPGs). The goal is to unify the pharmacy profession across the four UK countries, enhancing patient care and community health.

    You'll need a proven track record in policy development and a strong understanding of UK health and care systems. You'll also have strong research and analytical capabilities and be able to show innovative thinking. It's important that you're a strong communicator with political sensitivity and the ability to network and influence effectively.

    We will consider applicants who can bring the right mix of skills, experience and vision to this role. A registered pharmacist or pharmacy technician with senior-level experience would be desirable, though not essential.

    A relevant postgraduate qualification, for example in health policy, improvement or management, would also be useful.

    Salary: £60,000 to £70,000 pro rata (£24,000-£28,000)

    Contract: Fixed-term contract for 12-months, with potential for extension. This is a part-time role, 2 days per week/8 per month)
