Full Job Description

This 9-month role requires no prior experience or degree and will support efforts to halt and reverse the decline of pollinators and their natural habitats, working with farmers, landowners, community groups. Trainees will engage in supervised hands-on work with various habitats, undertaking training in skills like GIS, species identification, event organisation, restoration practices. One 'study' day per week for research, training and skill development. As Pollinator Pathways trainee, you will:

  • Support the project team in project delivery
  • One study day per week
  • Gain the skills, qualifications, experience needed to start a career in the environmental sector
  • Learn how to deliver nature recovery projects (admin and ground works)
  • Obtain a good understanding of relevant legislation and funding processes
  • Help arrange and run community engagement events, volunteer work days
  • Shadow senior staff on farm visits and community events, assisting in writing reports for landowners
  • Support habitat surveys and monitoring efforts alongside the project team
  • Successful applicants will be invited to attend a group interview on 26/11/24 including a range of practical tasks and an informal discussion with each candidate.
