Full Job Description

Porters play a crucial part in keeping the hospital working by moving patients, goods and equipment between departments to where they are needed.
Hospital Porters are also involved in emergency response arrangements including the response to fire alarm activations and support to security where required.
As a Porter in Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, you will play a part in the provision of excellent care to our patients.
We are looking for enthusiastic and committed team members who are willing to work hard to maintain our service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, The safe movement of people and goods including (but not limited to):
+ Patients (including babies, children and adults)
+ The deceased
+ Mail
+ Medical Records
+ Pharmacy supplies
+ Blood units and Pathology Specimens
+ Sterile Supplies
+ Patient meals
+ Domestic Waste
+ Confidential Waste
+ Clinical and Cytotoxic Waste
+ Linen
+ Office furniture and equipment
+ Check all modes of patient equipment are safe and in good working order
+ Attend all crash and trauma calls to support the crash team
+ Deputise for the Shift Leads in their absence as requested by the service. Lead
+ Undertake Non -routine Portering duties such as office furniture and equipment movement
+ Replenish medical gas supply, including where required the connection to the medical gases systems
+ Collection from clinical area and transfer to Mortuary of deceased patients to include the completion of appropriate documentation
+ Provide support to security staff where required, Happy to Talk Flexible Working - all requests for flexible and part time working will be considered.
