Full Job Description
· Driving the Trust vehicle to collect all waste management including clinical, domestic, cardboard, and recycle waste
Ensuring safety checks of waste vehicle are completed daily
Our Main duties include transporting patients around the trust to different wards and departments whilst ensuring patients are safe and comfortable this can be patients on beds or chairs.
We work in a variety of departments such as theatre, X-ray and general patient areas, clinical areas and non clinical areas
We also transport trust waste , trust linen , collecting and transporting bloods and help service users in moving equipment along with other duties., Transport patients across the site using the appropriate equipment supplied (beds, trolleys, wheelchairs etc
Complete scheduled and on request blood collections
Changing, transporting and checking correct size medical gas bottles by adhering to all regulations and training issued
Record details when changing theatre nitrous gas cylinders in line with regulations and training issued
Respond to fire alerts as part of the fire team, if required assist with evacuation of patients, prevent visitors/patients entering fire alert zones and ensure fire brigade are meet and notified location of the fire alert.
Driving the Trust vehicle to collect all waste management including clinical, domestic, cardboard, and recycle waste
Collection and transportation of linen across the Trust, store appropriately
Maintain general tidiness on a daily basis of the reception areas and pathways leading into the Hospital
Grit hospital site pavements
Transport deceased patients to the mortuary in a safe and dignified manner using the appropriate equipment
If requested attend liquid oxygen compound and monitor the levels until staff from the Estates department can attend
Move equipment and furniture as requested in a safe manner across the Trust

Employers are expected to implement the Care Certificate for all applicable new starters from April 2015. The Care Certificate aims to equip health and social care support workers with the knowledge and skills which they need to provide safe, compassionate care. We expect all new starters in clinical, patient facing posts (bands 1-4) to complete all 15 standards of the Care Certificate, within their first 6 months with the Trust.
