Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out porterage tasks across all areas of the Heathrow campus. This includes understanding and completing all work-related documentation accurately and in a timely manner. You are expected to adhere to company ethics, policies, and procedures, performing your duties in a safe and diligent manner while complying with all Health and Safety policies and procedures. Participation in training and appraisal activities as required is also part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will assist with wider logistics and service delivery to customers, aligning with your capabilities and as needed.

Main Duties

You will work a 42.5-hour, five-day week, with the flexibility to adjust hours according to business needs. Daily communication with the Terminal Manager will be necessary to ensure smooth operations. Your duties will include driving tasks across the Heathrow Campus and assisting with the movement of items within the campus. You will also be responsible for the disposal of furniture and other unwanted items and may need to work different shifts to meet business requirements. Office moves will be undertaken as required, along with general clerical duties related to reporting and Health and Safety.

Support for the wider Mitie team will be expected, as well as observing local security measures in line with client policies. Daily checks on various onsite items will be required, and you will record your findings accordingly. Minor repairs to onsite assets, such as chairs and tensator barriers, will also be part of your role (training and tools will be provided). Regular DBS checks may be required if needed.

The ideal candidate will be physically fit and capable of lifting moderate to heavy loads, given the nature of the position. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, along with excellent customer service skills and flexibility in working hours. Basic computer literacy is required, and you should work well both in a team and independently. A 'can do' attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement and a flexible approach to work is crucial. Embracing change, maintaining a well-presented appearance, and adhering to the business dress code (uniform provided) are expected. High levels of honesty, integrity, loyalty, and respect are essential in all interactions. Previous experience in a porterage environment is desirable but not mandatory. The ability to drive is essential (must be over 21 and hold a clean license). DBS checks will be conducted upon employment.
