Portering Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Portering Assistant to join our team at Ainslie Rehab Unit. As a Portering Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of the unit . Your role is vital in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The Ainslie Rehab Unit provides high-quality rehabilitation services to patients in a supportive and patient-centred environment.,

• providing an effective front of house service
• environmental issues such as Estates, maintenance fire procedures and general safety procedures, etc.
• Ordering of weekly laundry for the Unit, keeping stock at the right level to meet the needs of the unit
• General stock taking for clinical sundries and any deficiencies in stock levels
• The daily purchasing of patient requirements from petty cash, e.g. newspapers/ magazines, toiletries from the local shops., This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
Starting with NELFT NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
