Full Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Portfolio Lead, with a passion for implementing new ways of working and the ability to oversee a portfolio of council-wide, complex programmes and projects, driving progress, enabling effective controls and reporting. Much of our work over the next two years is about digitalising services, so our ideal candidate will have experience of overseeing complex digital projects and programmes, and know what it takes to ensure success. You might already be a Portfolio Manager or Digital Portfolio Lead in another organisation, or you might be a Programme Manager or Delivery Lead looking for a step into Portfolio management. For us, experience and aptitude count more than formal qualifications and we will have a strong preference for candidates who can demonstrate a commitment to learning (formal or through experience) throughout their career so far.

Gedling is on an ambitious journey to improve the customer experience, introduce smarter ways of working and lay strong foundations for the future and is establishing fast paced delivery plans to enable this. The role would oversee a small team of Programme Managers, BAs and transformation personnel, and will co-ordinate wider resources on a matrix basis, reporting to the Director of Transformation and for reporting, into the Senior Leadership Team.

We also offer employees significantly discounted gym membership at Gedling's five Leisure Centres.
