Join us in this great and rewarding job, as our Team leader (known internally as Positive Behavioural Support Team Leader). You'll manage our team and home to provide person-centred and strengths-based support to our customer (let's call her V) and help her reach her full potential.
V has complex needs including a mild learning disability and autism. She loves food, films and enjoys spending time with her sister and going out to coffee shops and the pub sometimes.
V has some sensory processing difficulties and can react strongly to too much noise and to too many demands, and needs a resilient team to support her with this.
Typical day as our Lead Support Worker

  • Helping V overcome barriers and help her lead a fulfilling and meaningful life and reach her true potential.

  • Recognising our customers' strengths and abilities and help them take the small steps at their pace, never losing sight of their dreams and aspirations!

  • Supporting V using Positive Behavioural Support model to promote independence and social inclusion through person centred support.

  • Monitoring our customers' mental and physical health to identify any signs of deterioration and take positive risk management to their health and wellbeing.

  • Motivating, directing, guiding, coaching, and supporting your team to work with our customers.

  • Managing all aspects of the home, care plans, risk assessments, Staff Rota's, Audits.

    You have
  • Experience in CQC Regulated services, with a Level 3 Diploma in Adult Health & Social Care or equivalent.

  • Worked as a Senior Support Worker, leading support for people with complex needs, or behaviours of distress.

  • A patient and calm approach, able to adapt your style to V's needs, as well as to the specific occasion and circumstances, even when they challenge us.

  • Great people management and motivation skills, bringing colleagues together to share information, best practice and fostering creativity.

  • Experience of positive risk management, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of customers and colleagues.

  • To help V to get out and about, you'll need to be able to drive / a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we'll pay your mileage!

  • Ideally got Makaton, but that's not a deal breaker!

  • Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role. This remains under regular review.
    Our team
    You'll join our growing PBS team in Norfolk, which includes our Registered Manager, Glen, who joined us last year. His first career was as a goldsmith creating famous pieces including F1 racing trophies, and a silver pointy hat for Jamiroquai! You'll also join our other Team Leaders and PBS workers, and our wider team. We're really proud of how we're setting up our new care services in Norfolk and are continuing to grow over the next few months.

  • You'll work shifts through the week with every other weekend off. This will include 22.5 hours on shift, with 15 hours admin time for paperwork.

  • You're able to use technology to update create and update support plans, communicate with colleagues and complete online learning.

  • We'll make sure you have a fantastic induction with ongoing learning and support.

  • You'll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.

  • You'll be able to communicate with family to keep them updated and involved.
