Positive Behaviour Support Worker

Our IPS service take a whole family approach to supporting children and young people with a learning disability and/or Autism, who display challenging behaviours.

We work with individuals and their families to understand the reasons behind behaviours and implement a co-produced behaviour support plan, with the aim of keeping the child at home and out of long term hospital stays or residential care.

Using the clinical frameworks of Applied Behavioural Analysis and Positive Behavioural Support the Positive Behaviour Support Key Worker will work within a multidisciplinary framework to provide a behavioural service in residential, educational and vocational settings to people with learning disabilities and behaviour that challenges.

Please note this role will involve evening and weekend work.

• Lived experience or working with and supporting people whose behaviour is described as concerning or challenging.


• Current awareness of national and regional health and social care policy and delivery issues for people with learning disabilities and family carers.


• Able to work with Children and their families to enable long lasting strong relationships.


• Effective communication skills with both service users and staff.


• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with a range of staff in a multi-disciplinary team (MDT).


• Values driven, ambitious to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities.
