Full Job Description
- Receive and sort all mail within the prison ensuring correct delivery to appropriate areas.
- X-ray and search all mail for prohibited items to prevent their entry into the prison.
- Deliver all post to the relevant departments to assist with the smooth operation of the prison to meet relevant standards.
- Collect and deliver all newspapers and magazines to the units on a daily basis to ensure an efficient service to prisoners.
- Sort and frank external post ensuring timely collection
- Connect all callers to their contact or the contact most relevant to the general nature of their enquiry in a timely professional manner.
- Ensure the maintenance of security within the prison environment by compliance with security instructions.
The ideal candidate will be an engaging, hardworking individual with good IT skills and attention to detail

HMP Rye Hill is a category 'B' training prison situated in the village of Willoughby, near Rugby in Warwickshire, holding approximately 664 sentenced male adults.
