Full Job Description

The Rudolf Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics, Clarendon Laboratory , Oxford
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in quantum condensed matter theory, working with Professor S. A. Parameswaran. The position will be supported from the UKRI Frontier Research Grant "Controllable Quantum Entangled States: Convergence at the Tunability Frontier (ConQuESt)."
Postholders are expected to conduct research in collaboration with the Professor Parameswaran and other members of the Oxford Quantum Condensed Matter Theory group. Duties will include carrying out research in theoretical physics within the general areas supported by the grant; related tasks will include collaborating in the preparation of reports and journal articles, presenting papers at conferences and workshops, and representing the group at meetings /seminars. The position allows considerable flexibility in research topics, but the grant has as its main themes the exploration of new many-body quantum phases of matter that can be realized in engineered moiré heterostructures on modern quantum computing devices. The post-holder will have the opportunity to teach.
