Full Job Description

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate who would like to be part of our BBSRC funded project on next generation proteomics, joining a multidisciplinary team led by Professor Justin Benesch for a period of twelve months.
The new approach leverages technologies developed by members of the team: biological mass spectrometry, nanopore sensing, escape time electrometry and mass photometry, and integrates information from each.
Find out more about the Benesch group research here: https://www.chem.ox.ac.uk/people/justin-benesch.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Chemistry or a relevant subject area and the successful candidate will be an expert in biological mass spectrometry methods and have substantial molecular and cell biology experience. The role will build on these capabilities and contribute to a team that aims to develop and apply a novel approach for identifying proteins, assessing their assembly state and structure, and their common modifications.
You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines and adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques and experimental protocols.
