The aim of the project is to investigate the cellular and molecular pathotypes in IBD. The research will dissect the function of stromal cells in the pathophysiology of IBD using in vivo models of colitis and human ex vivo assays and describe the cytokines and signalling pathways acting on stromal cells and their consequences in inflammation.
You will be responsible for the development of the research project and plan new studies with other team members and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all findings, whilst making these available to other members of the team. You will actively participate in meetings at group, institute and departmental level, maintain up-to-date awareness of relevant publications in the area of research and share responsibility for preparing and submitting publications.

You will hold a PhD degree (or near completion) in a discipline of direct relevant to cellular immunology research and or stromal biology, expert level knowledge of cytokines and immune cell biology and extension pratical experience working with in vivo .
A passion and desire to conduct investigative research that is aligned with the project goals and grounded in expert-level knowledge and experience and being highly motivated and able to use own initiative to solve problems is essential. Experience with computational tools and human sample handling is desirable.
