Full Job Description

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Structural Materials Chemistry to work under the supervision of Professor Andrew Goodwin for a period of up to 30 months. The project aims to develop, understand, and apply functional materials whose structures are based on Truchet-tile architectures. This particular research focuses on the synthesis and crystallographic characterisation of Truchet-tile framework materials.

Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry or a related area (or be close to completion) prior to taking up the appointment. Have expertise in the synthesis and characterisation of framework materials, and particularly exposure to the use of crystallographic methods for determining the structures of complex systems with correlated disorder.
You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
