Full Job Description

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join Professor Molly Stevens's lab at the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery. The role involves designing and fabricating bioactive materials for cell delivery and tissue interfacing. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, independent researcher with expertise in chemistry, a strong publication record, and a collaborative mindset. This post is available from January 2025, with the possibility of part-time appointments being considered.,

  • Develop hydrogels and hybrid biomaterials for tissue regeneration and cell delivery.
  • Use advanced characterisation techniques (e.g., rheology, NMR, microscopy).
  • Establish cross-disciplinary protocols for biomedical applications.
  • Manage research and administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate within the Stevens Group and with external researchers.

    PhD/DPhil in chemistry, materials science, or related fields (completed or near completion).
  • Expertise in organic synthesis, polymer functionalisation, and hydrogel characterisation.
  • Proven record of first-author publications.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
