Postdoctoral Scientist - Plant Immunity Research

The Zipfel Lab at The Sainsbury Laboratory (TSL) in Norwich is seeking a motivated postdoctoral scientist to join our team. This role focuses on deciphering the molecular mechanisms underlying plant immunity, with emphasis on the identification and characterization of pattern recognition receptors. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge fundamental research in plant science and its potential translation to crops, working within a world-renowned research environment. As part of the Zipfel Lab you will work closely with colleagues at TSL and the University of Zürich.

• PhD degree related to biology or biochemistry (held, or close to submission).
• Experience in plant molecular genetics and/or protein biochemistry would be advantageous.
• A strong interest in fundamental plant immunity research, and its application.
• Proactive, creative and curiosity-driven with enthusiasm to take ownership of research projects.

  Salary will be within the UEA R&A Grade 7 - £37,999 - £46,485 some applicants may be eligible for a Skilled Worker Visa, this will be reviewed on an individual basis.
This is initially being offered as a Three year contract, with a flexible start date.
