Full Job Description

The Department of Computer Science and Technology is an academic department within the University of Cambridge that encompasses Computer Science, along with many aspects of Engineering, Technology and Mathematics.

The Department of Computer Science and Technology has recently expanded its Postgraduate Education Team, which provides a high level of support to teaching staff as well as administrative support for three postgraduate courses, PhD, CPGS, the MPhil and an integrated Masters.

Working closely with the Postgraduate Education Team, you will assist with coordinating the efficient running of the courses to support its successful delivery whilst contributing to the implementation of any changes in processes and procedures as and when required.

Key duties will include assisting in the annual recruitment cycle for the department's postgraduate courses, including coordination of a number of course recruitment events and the preparations for each new academic year. You will also liaise with teaching staff on all aspects of course organisation viz; planning, preparation and collating of course information, as well as editing and distributing course material, course requirements and documentation submissions. You will also carry out administration of assessment processes, provide information on results and update the Moodle site with information. As secretary to committees, you will be required to arrange and attend meetings, take minutes, and follow up on actions that are implemented.

Educated to A level standard/NVQ level 3 or equivalent level of practical experience, the ideal candidate will have experience in a busy administrative role, have excellent communication and organisation skills and be able to demonstrate knowledge of facts, principles, processes, and general concepts related to Course Administration.

The post is full time, however we will consider part-time arrangements.
