Full Job Description

The Faculty of History is seeking a motivated individual to join our Postgraduate Team office as a Postgraduate Programme Coordinator. In this role, you will be part of a supportive team responsible for coordinating the training and teaching requirements of postgraduate students across the Faculty. Your key responsibilities will include planning, implementing, and evaluating training programs aimed at enhancing postgraduate student development. You will also oversee teaching and examination processes for our taught MPhil programs. Collaboration is essential in this position; you will work closely with both administrative staff and academic colleagues within the Faculty, as well as external partners, to ensure that our courses and training align with faculty objectives and meet student needs.

The Faculty of History's 100 academic staff constitute one of the largest and best history departments in the world. Over 100 MPhil students each year take one of the Faculty's eight taught MPhil programmes, and there are around 300 PhD students.

We are looking for a flexible, resourceful individual who has excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail. You will be a proficient user of Microsoft Office, experience of SharePoint Power Automate and Power BI would be an advantage. Experience of working in a Higher Education environment would also be desirable but more important is the ability to learn new skills and develop a knowledge of University/Departmental policies in order to be able to offer advice to others as required.

You will be organised and be able to prioritise your own workload, manage tight deadlines, and work independently using your own initiative, but you will know when to refer matters to others and when to consult on your ideas. We are looking for someone who will be able to contribute actively as a member of a team, and will build positive working relationships within the Department and University.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with excellent administrative experience to develop new strategic skills in a varied and busy position.
