Postperson with DL

You'll start your day in the local delivery office, sorting and gathering the mail needed for your route. You will collect your allocated vehicle and your hand-held computer device (detailing your route and tracking your mail) and then deliver the mail and parcels to your local community. Shift lengths vary between 4-6 hours per day. Please be aware that you will be walking more than driving and most Post people do over 25,000 steps a day.

• The ideal candidate for this role will be upbeat, self-motivated, and happy to work alone as well as part of a team. You will be helpful and approachable displaying a strong sense of community, as you get to know the people you meet on your round.
• Royal Mail deliver parcels whatever the weather, so you will enjoy working outdoors and due to the amount of walking required you will need to be relatively fit and healthy.
• You will be smartly presented, always acting in a professional and courteous manner.
Previous Experience :
• Some previous experience in a customer facing or delivery role would be ideal but not essential.
• You will be required to complete a full DBS security check prior to commencing work.
Driving licence requirements :
• A full UK manual driving licence (in your current UK address).
• Maximum 6 penalty points.
