Full Job Description
You will be responsible for leading teams and personnel in performing all preventative and corrective tasks involved in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of various types of equipment located in the water and wastewater treatment plants and systems, to include collection systems, pipe distribution networks, and industrial control systems as well as examining and troubleshooting general industrial plant machinery, equipment, and systems to determine area(s) of difficulty and performance shortfalls. You will plan and lay out work from blueprints, sketches, specifications, and work orders. You will identify and supervise preventive maintenance services as well as utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. You will be required to drive a and operate a motor vehicle; an appropriate valid driving license CAT B will be required. This position will also be required a pre-employment physical that also includes immunizations . Your hours of work will be 39 hours per week Mon-Fri 0730-1600 where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization's flexible working policies.
Potable Water System Lead - If you are a dedicated and skilled Industrial Waste Treatment Equipment Leader with a passion for excellence, we invite you to join our team at the United States Air Force, 48th Civil Engineer Squadron, RAF Lakenheath We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience in leading a team, performing tasks involving maintenance, repair and overhaul of various equipment located in the water and wastewater treatment plants and systems., As the Potable Water System Lead you will be required to have a BTEC Level 3/ City and Guilds/ NVQ in an appropriate discipline (such as Mechanical (or) Electrical Engineering) . You will show the ability to teach, lead, and independently diagnose, plan, and complete projects or work orders involving major water and wastewater systems in their entirety. You will have knowledge and experience planning work and leading teams to perform corrective and preventive maintenance task, including Knowledge of mechanical, electric, and electronic procedures, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components of industrial plant support machinery and equipment. You will also have experience and knowledge of operating characteristics of the involved systems and equipment, and the applicable installation and repair procedures, methods, and trade practices as well knowledge and ability to use and work with test equipment and measuring devices, such as micrometers, dial indicators, anometers, and volt meters. Lasty, you will have knowledge of safety practices, regulations, and procedures. Qualification requirements:
- BTEC Level 3/ City and Guilds/ NVQ in an appropriate discipline (such as Mechanical (or) Electrical Engineering).
- An appropriate valid driving license CAT B will be required. Certificates must be submitted for your application to be valid. Other significant facts about the role: You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. You will be required to train/guide lower graded (or other trades) military/civilian employees. You may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Shift work may be required. All successful applicants will require a security clearance and a right to work in the UK.
