Full Job Description

West Northamptonshire Council is seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to join our BIPI Team on a fixed-term contract for 6 months with the possibility of extending to 9 months. This role will focus on developing Power BI reports and dashboards as part of the implementation of the Liquid Logic adult social care case management system. You will play a crucial role in the transformation of data reporting and visualisation, enabling the Council to deliver improved services and outcomes.What will you be doing? Are you a skilled Power BI Developer with a passion for transforming data into actionable insights? We are looking for a talented individual to join our team and play a key role in supporting the development of our new Liquid Logic case management system for Adult Social Care. In this role, you will design and develop Power BI reports and dashboards that meet the specific needs of the system, ensuring data is effectively visualised to aid decision-making processes. You will create and maintain semantic data models, ensuring complex data is accurately represented in Power BI. Collaborating closely with the Adult Social Care team, you'll understand reporting requirements and continuously refine and improve reports to meet evolving needs. You will also work with stakeholders to ensure data is sourced, processed, and visualised in an efficient and insightful manner. Your expertise will be crucial in providing recommendations for improving data workflows and automating report processes where possible. Troubleshooting performance issues and optimising Power BI reports to ensure smooth and effective operation will also be part of your responsibility.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with Power BI, developing complex reports and dashboards, along with strong skills in designing semantic data models and working in the DAX coding environment. A solid understanding of data integration, transformation, and modelling techniques is essential, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. You should be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and be self-motivated, capable of managing your time effectively in a project-driven environment.
