Are you an experienced and passionate Power Systems Engineer ready to take on a leadership role? We are looking for an Associate Power Systems Engineer to lead and inspire our team, drive innovation, and deliver world-class power system solutions. Our Power Systems team specialises in high-voltage design, technical advisory services, and power system studies, delivering cutting-edge solutions for some of the most challenging and prestigious projects in the UK and internationally. The Role The Role As an Associate Power Systems Engineer, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing the full scope of the team's operations, including client care, fee proposals, recruitment, and commercial management. You will lead power system projects, ensuring successful delivery from concept to completion, while maintaining the highest technical standards and developing strong client relationships. This role demands an individual with a holistic understanding of power system design, encompassing primary, secondary, and studies, with the ability to lead client and utility meetings and delegate tasks effectively to a skilled team of engineers. Responsibilities
- Provide leadership across all aspects of the team's operations, including project delivery, commercial performance, and team development.
- Lead power system design projects, from initial concept through to detailed design and delivery, ensuring projects meet time, budget, and quality requirements.
- Take ownership of fee proposals, client management, and recruitment efforts to grow the team.
- Act as a technical authority, leading client and utility meetings, presenting technical solutions, and developing associated calculations for power system projects.
- Develop and manage work packages for the team, delegating tasks effectively and ensuring seamless project delivery.
- Maintain a holistic understanding of project requirements, balancing primary, secondary, and study disciplines to deliver fully integrated solutions.
- Mentor and motivate a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Actively contribute to the development of the business, identifying new opportunities and building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. Key Deliverables
- Leadership and Oversight: Ensure the successful delivery of power system projects while managing team performance and development.
- Project Management: Drive projects from concept to delivery, maintaining oversight of all work packages and ensuring alignment with client goals.
- Technical Excellence: Lead technical discussions, oversee designs, and deliver robust, compliant, and innovative solutions., Lead prestigious power systems projects in the UK and internationally.

Chartered Engineer with at least 10 years of professional experience in the power systems industry. - Proven ability to lead and deliver power projects, with a strong understanding of power systems design and theory from first principles.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and overcome challenges with initiative and professionalism.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, including breaking down work packages and managing design delivery within budget and time constraints.
- A holistic understanding of primary, secondary, and power system studies, enabling successful integration across disciplines.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to delegate tasks and drive team performance effectively. Desirable Skills
- Experience with voltage levels up to 400kV.
- Knowledge of the UK utility industry and utility-specific standards.
- Consultancy experience, with a proven track record of delivering major projects.
