You'll be joining the company at a very exciting time, as we launch a brand-new business unit that will be transformative for our clients across the public and private sectors. The role provides a fantastic opportunity to help ensure the launch is successful, and to shape and lead our in-house PR activity across all sectors, to increase our share of voice and amplify our purpose: to drive positive change in business and society, creating services that make life better. This is a new and exciting role that will suit an ambitious and motivated PR professional: an expert copywriter who has a deep understanding of the media landscape and extensive experience of working with journalists. Whilst you will focus most of your time on PR related activity, the role also requires flexibility and a willingness to support the wider award-winning communications team. • Building the profile of our key people via an ambitious thought leadership strategy.
  • Driving awareness of our innovative services and exceptional culture through a best-in-class industry awards programme.
  • Managing and mitigating any issues with the potential to impact our reputation.
  • On a day-to-day basis this will include:
  • PR Strategy: Delivering the earned media strategy across Sopra Steria and its UK family of brands; including drafting press releases, bylined articles, and media pitches; liaising with journalists; identifying and developing story ideas; and providing expert PR advice to colleagues from across the business.
  • Press Office: Helping to manage a best-in-class press office, which responds timely and appropriately to incoming media queries and requests.
  • Reputation Management: Supporting the Communications Director and Head of External Communications with crisis communications and corporate reputational issues, working closely with colleagues across the business and external stakeholders.
  • Content Creation: Creating quality content that supports our corporate messaging, and is suitable for multiple different channels, will be an important part of your day-to-day activity.
  • Measurement & Reporting: Taking a data-led approach to all activity and showcasing the added value earned media brings to the business.
  • What you'll bring:
  • Personal track record of driving impactful media relations and increasing brand awareness.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a complex, global, matrixed organisation.
  • A passion for storytelling and the ability to create high-quality, engaging content that increases our media profile in the UK.
  • Highly collaborative and able to influence senior stakeholders, as well as willing to roll up your sleeves to make things happen.
  • Must be a team player who is willing to support the wider communications team as necessary and play a leading part in its success.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to translate how PR delivers business results and contributes to achieving corporate objectives.
