Full Job Description

Wootton Vale Healthy Living Centre has excellent an opportunity for a practice administrator to join our busy practice support team, on a part-time basis. The position is for 27.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, working a mixture of 7.45am-1.15pm or 1pm-6.30pm, across our two sites.,

  • Provide full administrative support within the surgery working across a range of departments undertaking a range of administrative duties.
  • Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
  • Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
  • Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team.
  • Facilitate effective communication between patients, members the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.

    We are a friendly surgery with a list size of over 17,000 patients, over two sites, Wootton Vale, (MK43 9JJ), and branch site Shortstown Surgery, (MK42 0GS). Both practices are based on the outskirts of Bedford town centre and have easy access & free on-site car parking. Both practices share the same clinical & management teams, & are active members of our PCN, (Caritas).
  • We have good appointment access, which means happy patients, and a strong teamwork ethos that includes an established clinical pharmacy team, GPs, nurses, physician associates, & a clinical liaison team who look after the clinical staff. We embrace IT and automation & often pilot new innovations.We are an accredited GP training practice for nurses, pharmacists and doctors.
