Full Job Description

This is permanent post, working full time 37.5 hours per week. The primary function of the practice based development practitioner is to actively engage in the development, implementation and evaluation of Orthopaedic practice within theatres. You will work clinically with operating theatre staff to ensure that all staff are assessed in the breadth of clinical competencies required to ensure the delivery of safe practice. You will have the responsibility to ensure that newly qualified, existing and internationally educated, theatres staff are supported and can successfully demonstrate the necessary clinical competencies whilst assuring that their practice is evidence based and safe. The operating theatre department prides itself on innovation, quality improvement and staff health and wellbeing to enable high quality care to be provided to all patients that we care for., To act as the practice based development practitioner within the operating theatre department, supporting staff in practice to ensure that newly qualified, existing and internationally educated staff, can successfully demonstrate the necessary clinical competencies so that their practice is evidence based and safe.

You must be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills, be a caring and compassionate individual focused on providing excellent quality patient care, working within the values held by the Trust."
