Full Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a passionate and self-motivated Occupational Therapist to work within this practice development role. The post holder will be responsible for the clinical education and direction of travel for qualified Occupational Therapists alongside Occupational Therapy support workers and students on placement. Working alongside key stakeholders, you will be responsible for ensuring a high quality learning experience for Occupational Therapy students and staff within LNWH. Operating across three busy sites with a range of both inpatient and outpatient specialities, we are seeking an individual with a strong clinical skillset and a passion to impart their knowledge and experience to others. This role presents an exciting opportunity to set direction and strategy in relation to all elements of training and supervision within Occupational Therapy. Reporting to the Head of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy, the post holder will gain experience of engaging with a variety of senior stakeholders, and will be engaged with leading on our training and development offerings. You will also have the opportunity to network with other sector providers within the NWL ICB, and will act as a key contact for a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to the trust. · To work clinically and operationallyalongsideboth qualified and trainee therapists to support anddevelop skills, expertise and knowledge that enable effective management of care · Act as an expert practitioner and role model, assisting colleagues to develop advanced knowledge and skills · Demonstrate specialist clinical knowledge and skills at the patient's bedside · Set, monitor and maintain excellent standards of Occupational Therapy care in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team. · Maintain and role model personal contact with patients, relatives and carers, being sensitive to their need for courtesy, dignity and privacy, ensuring a safe and friendly environment at all times. · Maintaining timely and accurate records and ensuring that confidentiality is respected. · Communicating with and assisting other members of the multidisciplinary team to promote excellence in the delivery of care and develop inter-professional learning. · Monitor and audit the quality of care through a range of strategies including risk management incident reporting, complaints, research, and clinical audit.

  • Able to scrutinise, question, evaluate and react to a multitude of complex and problematic situations, including practical, emotional, and organisational aspects of patient, relative and staff management.
