Due to the Trust's commitment to increase the numbers of placements for direct entry Nursing and Nursing Associate Pre-Registration students undertaking NMC approved education programmes, and with an ambition to recruit and retain this future workforce, we are seeking to recruit a full time Band 7 Practice Educator. Practice Development are an established team with a robust support infrastructure in place and managed by a senior nursing team under the direction of the Practice Development Lead and Associate Director of Nursing for Education and Research. The post holder will work as part of a practice development team to provide support and guidance to practice learning support staff. They will work in partnership with stakeholders to ensure the development of inter professional learning opportunities in practice. In addition they will ensure that positive learning environments are created and maintained to drive the integration of theory with practice., The post-holder will have responsibilities which include student preparation and support, recruitment of students, expansion, maintenance, monitoring and review of practice placements and the learning environment, development of practice learning, partnership working with internal and external stakeholders such as ward managers, partner Universities, NHS England and practice assessors, curriculum development, etc.,

  • To ensure students are supported in becoming competent and capable practitioners within an inter-professional framework by facilitating the supervisors and assessors in teaching, supervising and assessing in a variety of settings which includes both the academic and practice areas.
  • To ensure structures are in place to provide pastoral support to students who are experiencing professional / personal issues within the practice setting.
  • To demonstrate knowledge of professional education and act as a learning resource for interprofessional learning in practice.

  • means in conjunction with the education providers as appropriate. Practice Placements
  • In partnership with the stakeholders, identify and develop capacity and capability for additional clinical placements, to ensure there are adequate placements to meet demand.
  • To demonstrate the delivery of capacity in response to local targets regarding the number,
  • breadth and quality placements. Development of Practice Learning
  • To act as an advocate for positive learning environments, for practice staff, and for interprofessional learning practice
  • To lead the development of new inter-professional practice learning support staff
  • To provide advice and support to staff who are involved in the supervision and assessment of
  • students in practice and to ensure the provision of positive learning environments
  • To maintain internal and external networks to facilitate learning
