Practice Educator AMU

The post holder will be a nurse or allied health professional with advanced clinical skills and an expert knowledge base. To lead in planning, facilitating and implementing continuous professional development and education of all members of staff in a positive learning environment. The Post Holder will be expected to work alongside staff during their shift to sign off competencies and aid training and development. A key element of the role will be the identification of the learning and development needs of Nursing and AHP staff with the Acute Medical Unit. Developing a learning framework and competencies to be used in supporting and signing off Core Clinical competencies and specific skills identified by Acute Medicine. To provide a rolling educational programme equipping health care professionals with knowledge and skills required to detect critically ill patients. To integrate policies, education, practise development and research relevant to the clinical area. Act as a resource and
advisor for future service developments and Trust-wide training and education. To act as a self-directed practitioner, providing support and guidance for staff working within the Acute Medical Unit.
