Are you looking for a job where you can work clinically in a highly respected and effective pre-op and surgical pharmacy team whilst also playing a crucial role in the education of the next generation of pharmacists, then read on!

This is a well-established joint post between Bath University and NBT which is equally split between both roles. The post holder will be responsible for developing, delivering, and assessing practice-based learning at an undergraduate level and be part of the Pre-Op Surgery pharmacy team providing a clinical service to the specialty.

This joint appointment will involve working collaboratively with other practice educators to design, deliver and assess practice based learning elements of the pharmacy undergraduate degree course including our very successful Clinical Learning in Practice (CLIP) model. The successful individual would be required to cover a range of face to face teaching activities and elements of assessment. There is also a requirement to provide pastoral support to individual students.

Whilst working within the hospital you will be part of the Pre-Op surgery team, providing cover to the clinic on a sessional basis and supporting the clinical management of surgical patients at NBT., Design and deliver high quality teaching which is informed by significant professional experience gained via practice, research/study and teaching experience, to undergraduate students on the new MPharm programme - to include lectures, workshops, applied pharmacy practice skills sessions and supervision of dissertations or projects, assessment and marking and pastoral care of students, in line with Department and University policy. Primarily the teaching commitment associated with this role will be in the practice setting.Carry out a significant role in the design, development and delivery of practice-based learning in the department of pharmacy and pharmacology.Contribute effectively to University wide developments and innovation in the design and delivery of teaching. This may include participation in professional accreditation activities where necessary. Whilst it is essential that teaching is informed by research/professional expertise there is no research component
in this role.Responsible for the efficient and effective provision, management, and development of the appropriate clinical pharmacy service in accordance with Medicines legislation, the Code of Ethics of the GPhC, RPS hospital pharmacy standards, UKMI standards and Trust policies and procedures.Provides specialist clinical pharmacy services at a high level to the Pre-Op pharmacy Surgical Team. Teaches and supervises less experienced colleagues, pharmacists, technicians, and students.

The role has a major focus on teaching and potential candidates must therefore have excellent presentation and communication skills, have completed a clinical diploma, and be able to work both at the University in Bath and Southmead hospital in Bristol.
