Could you help Glemsford Surgery to deliver the best quality and safest care to our local community? - Fixed Term role - Full time 37.5 hours per week (negotiable). Glemsford Surgery are recruiting to Practice Nurse Role. It is a surgery underneath the Agenda for Change process and part of West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. As a Practice Nurse you will be responsible for the delivery of general practice nursing to the whole practice population. The focus of the role is both the delivery of evidence-based practice for patients presenting with long term condition and the provision of preventative healthcare to the practice population.

You will work within the general practice team to meet the needs of patients and support the delivery of the services. You will be expected to demonstrate clinical and communication skills to a high standard and a commitment to improving nursing practice through on-going personal and professional development. It is preferable for the post holder to be able to do cervical cytology and respiratory issues (asthma reviews, COPD reviews and spirometry performance and interpretation). Also childhood immunisations, vaccinations, travel vaccinations, wound care including doppler, compression bandaging and smoking cessation. Experience of System one system is desirable. The candidate will need to have a flexible working approach and have the ability to work with a wide range of professionals, people and patients. Successful candidates will:

  • Be accustomed to a high degree of autonomy on a day to day basis.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail
  • Have excellent people management skills with experience of difficult situations and challenging individuals and the ability to manage these effectively and calmly.
  • Be comfortable working with a wide variety of ages and individuals with very different clinical conditions.
  • Have a strong value set around quality and patient/career experience.
  • Have excellent time management skills and thrive on working at pace.
  • Be comfortable with changes at short notice
