Full Job Description
The Laurels Surgery is looking for an experienced practice nurse, on a part time basis for 30 hours per week, who is competent and confident in carrying out annual reviews for patients with long term conditions, including asthma, COPD and particularly diabetes.,
- Managing and treating long-term conditions, in line with national or local policies and practice needs.
- Supporting and managing the health needs of women presenting for sexual health, contraception, and cervical cytology consultations.
- Implementing, and participating in, vaccination and immunisation programmes for both adults/children.
- Providing wound care including removal of stitches or staples, dressings and compression-dressings.
- Running asthma, COPD, diabetes clinics and reviews.
We are a two-site training practice based in the semi-rural villages of Hatfield Peverel and Boreham, serving a patient population of 11,300. We are a SystmOne practice with a consistently high QOF achievement and a CQC rating of good.
We are part of the Aegros PCN with Little Waltham & Great Notley, Douglas Grove Surgery and the Beacon Health Group. Our team is made up of three GP partners, five salaried GPs, a paramedic practitioner, a nurse prescriber, a practice nurse, two HCAs, and a phlebotomist, further supported by PCN staff including a pharmacist and physiotherapist. Additionally we have a well established non-clinical team of managers, administrators, dispensers and receptionists.
