Full Job Description
- Assessing and monitoring patient conditions
- Checking symptoms and vital signs and arranging diagnostic tests
- Displaying excellent analytical ability and sound decision making in changing clinical situations
- Working as an effective team member and promoting team and interdisciplinary relationships
- The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above., Being a practice nurse in the NHS is a versatile and impactful role that spans across various healthcare settings, from hospitals to community clinics. It involves providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages and backgrounds, addressing both acute medical needs and long-term health management. The flexibility in scheduling allows general nurses to balance their professional responsibilities with personal commitments, ensuring they can deliver compassionate and effective care while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
This role is based in a fast paced and busy GP practice. - High levels of emotional resilience is an absolute requisite, an empathetic manner and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Treatment room skills : Phlebotomy, dressings, vaccinations, health checks / promotion. The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above. What youll need :
- A minimum of 6 months paid experience in an Acute hospital environment within the last 3 years
- Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices Qualifications or IT skills required :
- Good IT skills, ability to learn new systems ( EMIS Web in particular) Essential skills :
- Good written and verbal / communication skills - Good organisational skills
- IT skills including Outlook, Excel and Word
- Ability to liaise with patients
- Good understanding of the General Data Protection Act
- Good communication skills with an empathetic approach
- High levels of emotional resilience
- Ability to work under pressure in a calm manner Desirable skills :
- Desire to attend courses relating to role, as appropriate.
- NHS experience - Experience of working in a Social Care Setting
- Desire to work in a Inclusion health / with marginalised population
- Knowledge of Long term condition management, Degree / Diploma in Nursing, A minimum of 6 months paid experience in an Acute hospital as Practice Nurse environment within the last 3 years.
