We are looking to recruit for a Practice Senior to join our BHF Goldthorpe Medical Centre. The purpose of the role is to oversee the smoothrunning of an individual practice site, with remote support from the ChiefOperating Officer, to ensure a high level of service delivery and to assist inthe implementation of new initiatives in conjunction with Management. You willalso monitor and improve income and services in line with Quality and OutcomesFramework, local enhanced services and direct enhanced services by supportingthe planning process. Main duties of the job Manage practice reception staff including processesrelating to recruitment, induction, and appraisals. Dealingwith general day to day enquiries from the Reception / Admin staff and supportingthem with less standard or straightforward issues that arise. Touse own initiative to deal with problems, guided by Practice procedures andguidelines. Escalate to management teamand clinicians for advice and support where required. Planand organise practice team rota, including clinical and administration team. Towork in partnership with the other Practice Seniors across the Federation,sharing best practice ideas and where appropriate identifying and recommendingchanges in procedures to the Chief Operating Officer, so that agreed targetsare met, and patient care is improved. Supportwith the handling and resolution of complaints, ensuring lessons are learntfrom feedback received. Runor write reports using set templates to support information sharing, monitoringand quality improvement. Ensure resources, equipment and stock are available tomeet specific work objectives. Responsible for petty cash on-site. Thismay include any of the following areas, oCytology-recalls and entering results. oProcessingand allocating Pathology results. oImmunisationrecalls (including childhood immunisations). oSummarisingmedical records. oScanningmedical information to patient records. oAllocatingworkflow to doctors. oReadcoding medical information. oProcessingout of hours information received electronically. oAllocatinghome visits and print relevant information for the clinical staff. oUpdatingrecords when a patient is deceased. oProcessingrepeat prescription requests. oProcessingonline prescription requests. oProcessinghospital discharge letters. oProcessingscanned workflow from the doctors. oRegistrationof new patients and temporary residents. oTomanage and process QOF files. oTocomplete and process POs, as and when required. oDeductionof patients. oRecallsof chronic disease management. oProcessingtasks in SystmOne. oProcessinginsurance report / medical records requests. RECEPTION DUTIES : Onopening the premises check the clinical rooms, waiting area and reception areheated / ventilated, clean and tidy. Toassist in organising patient appointments, and the passage of information tostaff, patients and Health Care providers. Ensurethe surgeries are well stocked with stationery and equipment needed by the clinicians. Toreceive and exchange routine information between Clinicians, Health Careproviders, staff, patients and external agencies. MEDICAL RECORDS : Managementof Medical Records. Ensurerecords are kept neat and tidy and in good general repair. Ensureany changes in patient details , address telephone numbers etc are alteredon the patients medical record.
Essential
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent including Maths and English. Desirable
- NVQ Level 3 Business Administration or equivalent professional experience. Practical, Intellectual, Analytical and Organisational skills Essential
- Ability to lease with multiple internal and external stakeholders involving the practice.
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload whilst meeting deadlines.
