The Welsh Joint Commissioning Committee JCC - (formally WHSSC) permanently funded psychological care in Paediatric Gastroenterology in 2022 and the role provides highly specialist psychological care and expertise to children and their families from across the Welsh region. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced part-time Practitioner Psychologist (Band 8A) to join the current post-holder in the continuing development of psychological care, providing expert professional and clinical services, multi-disciplinary work, consultation, liaison, research, teaching, training and supervision of the Assistant Psychologist, Trainee Clinical Psychologists and MSc Placement Students, nursing and medical staff and other members of the Paediatric Gastroenterology multidisciplinary team. The post is 0.6WTE, 22.5 hours per week and will involve work in a medical specialty where psychological leadership, highly specialist psychological skills and

We are looking for an applicant with a track record of knowledge and experience of working as a practitioner psychologist in medical/ health settings. This post would appeal to an enthusiastic and motivated person, who will enjoy the challenge of working in a dynamic environment.
It is essential for the post holder to hold a Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent), and to be a HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical/Counselling).
Whilst a demonstrable interest in, applying psychology in medical settings is desirable, we would welcome applications from those in other specialties who have an interest in further developing a career in child health psychology and can strongly demonstrate transferable skills.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
