Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent part time Band 2 Pre-Assessment Clinic Receptionist position.

To work as part of a team to provide clerical and receptionist support to the pre-operative assessment clinic. Effectively communicating with patients and the multidisciplinary team and contributing to a positive patient experience throughout the Unit.

Welcome patients to the pre-operative assessment centre in a professional and courteous manner.

Liaise with relatives and carers.

Admit patients on PAS/intouch.

Update patient demographics on PAS and generate the relevant documentation for the patients' assessment.

Add patients to the digital pre assessment - Synopsis.

Update patient information on Synopsis.

Assist patients, if required, in order for them to complete their Health Questionnaire on Synopsis.

Monitor the waiting area, being observant and conscious of the flow of patients in the Unit.

Monitor and update the intouch/PAS system and assist Nursing staff with the patient journey through the Unit.

Record attendances on PAS.

Ensure case notes are available for all patients attending the pre-operative assessment centre.

Prepare paperwork and case notes for future assessments.

Ensure all clinical documentation is filed correctly in the case notes.

Track case notes in and out of the pre-operative assessment centre on PAS.

Deliver case notes to the medical records department/medical secretaries/ outpatient department daily in a timely manner.

Collect notes from medical records department/medical secretaries/outpatients department daily in a timely manner to ensure smooth running of the pre assessment service.

Ensure all calls into POAC Reception are answered in a courteous and timely manner.

Provide administrative support to the POAC Ward Manager and Admin Manager incorporating printing and photocopying.

Open and distribute post and action emails promptly.

Work as a team providing cover for annual and sick leave.

Provide accurate information for the POAC admin manager and Ward Manager.

Attend and participate in Team meetings.

Adhere to Trust policies and procedures.
