Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a Pre-Prep Swimming Coach to deliver our ambitious swimming curriculum in our forward-thinking Junior School setting. This is an exciting and varied role and is an ideal opportunity for anyone with a passion for encouraging young children develop a love of swimming from Reception onwards.

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Swimming Coach to join a dynamic and able sports and PE team. Candidates should be prepared to work in any year group from Nursery-Year 2 and contributing actively to an engaging, structured and differentiated swimming curriculum.

Any previous experience working with children in the EYFS would be particularly desirable. We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, with a keen interest in responding to progress being made in lessons, along with a commitment to a 'pupils first' approach to learning.

Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post. As this role involves 'regulated activity' with children the successful applicant will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure application. Employment will be conditional upon the College being satisfied with the result of the Enhanced DBS check and the outcome of all other checks.

The College will also carry out a check of the Children's Barred List on the successful applicant. Applicants should be aware that it is unlawful for the College to employ anyone to work with children if they are barred from doing so, and it is a criminal offence for a person to apply to work with children if they are barred from doing so.

This role is also exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the College is therefore permitted to ask shortlisted applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
