Full Job Description

Our Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician will be provided with training over a 2-year period in mental health, community, learning disability and wellbeing services across Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield. This is a full-time post and includes a blended learning day per week, during term time, (either attendance at college or online teaching session), in addition allocated study time will be provided in the workplace.

During the 2-year Adult Apprenticeship Training period, there will be placements in an acute Trust and community pharmacy.

The successful candidate will become part of a friendly and professional Pharmacy Team, which covers different specialities. You will help support the dispensary team at Fieldhead Hospital and Pharmacy teams across the Trust provide Pharmacy services to in-patient, out-patients, and clinics.

The successful candidate will have an opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge to register as a Pharmacy Technician. This is a 2-year fixed term, level 3 apprenticeship contract. On successful completion of the course, you will achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practices for Pharmacy Technicians and be eligible to apply for registration on the General Pharmaceutical Council Pharmacy Technician register.

Candidates will need to possess a minimum of 4 GCSEs or equivalent at grade 5(grade C) or above, including Maths, English and Science.

Candidates should understand the Pharmacy Technician role, previous experience in a Pharmacy setting would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.

The post will not attract a work permit; applicants must already have the right to live and work in the UK., You will need to have good organisational skills and be self-motivated to complete the study required as part of this role. You will need to be a committed individual with good written and verbal communication skills.
