Full Job Description

Join GE Digital as a Pre Sales Solution Consultant, where you'll be responsible for activities and processes that help the sales organization achieve business objectives. You'll support Pre Sales through the full sales cycle across the GE Vernova GridOS portfolio, with a focus on Transmissions Systems. You will provide consultancy on Advanced Energy Managements Systems (AEMS) and Wide Area Management Systems (WAMS), and advanced Power System applications including Effective Inertia. The challenge

  • You'll be a trusted technical advisor on the Commercial Sales Team, aligning capabilities to specific outcomes, creating reference architectures, and calculating potential solution value.
  • Provide a deep knowledge on all the GE Vernova Transmission established products and have a good understanding of the integration with complementary product lines focused on EMS and combined with WAMS and transmission analytics - Advanced EMS solutions.
  • Apply detailed technical knowledge of grid dynamics to identify customer challenges and provide direction on the application of WAMS technologies defining technical solutions.
  • Show strong engagement with customers, delivering product demonstrations, presentations the GE Digital Grid value story in the transmission segment.
  • Interact with Solution Engineering team to define tailored solutions against customer specification.
  • Represent GE Vernova at technical committees, regional trade shows and exhibitions.
  • Using technical and market knowledge, work with Product Management to define new features, representing the specific requirements of the EMEA region.
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence in relation to market requirements and competitor positioning.
  • Support the sales and power systems team with the development of marketing collateral.
  • Actively cooperate and work alongside the business development team in building awareness of the GE Vernova Digital Grid products across the Power Systems portfolio. Providing content for e-books, presentation collaterals and leading the technical engagements with the customers & prospects, partners and industry bodies such as IEEE, CIGRE etc.
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of own and others sales territory, product lines, markets, sales processes or customer groups and uses analytical thinking and commercial experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
  • Ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems with projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, or customers. Ability to prioritize information for decision making. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

    Ideally some experience in the Sales & Digital Solution Architecture, though an aptitude to learn is equally useful
  • BSc / BEng (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in electrical power systems and grid dynamics
  • Utility, research or industry experience would be beneficial - in particular, experience in operations, planning and/or power system analysis using industry standard tools for example PSS/E, DigSilent Powerfactory or Powertech DSA Tools
  • Proficient in presenting technical solutions
  • Working knowledge of modern composable architectures (for example solutions based on Kubernetes and Microservices)
  • Experience with GE Vernova Grid network management products would be beneficial including EMS and WAMS products, or familiarity with other SCADA/EMS solutions present in the EMEA market
  • A major second European language is a plus
