Full Job Description

Are you a driven and results-oriented individual in Construction? We are seeking a dynamic Preconstruction Manager with strong leadership and values to join our Southern regional team based out of Weybridge, Surrey. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering and winning profitable work while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. You will lead a team and be responsible for frameworks, negotiated and two-stage bids for projects ranging in value from 10m to 100m across a range of sectors, including, Education, Leisure, Commercial, Blue Light, Residential and Health. At Willmott Dixon we operate through several frameworks, allowing for a greater probability of seeing your hard work come to life. Reporting to the Procurement Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Bid Strategy: Lead the procurement team in setting winning bid strategies, ensuring profitability, timeliness, and alignment with company objectives.
  • Leadership: Foster a high-performing team environment, providing guidance, coaching, and resources to ensure success in project delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek feedback, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance bid quality and competitiveness.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and potential business opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Resource Allocation: Coordinate with senior management to allocate resources effectively, ensuring optimal support.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal requirements, contractual obligations, and industry standards, promoting a culture of innovation and quality excellence.

    Expert knowledge of bid processes and construction industry practices.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Desirable skills:
  • MCIOB/RICS membership or similar certification (desirable).
