Full Job Description

Decanter publishes at least one piece of content on Premium every day and about 2,000 tasting notes a month. This role would ensure all copy and notes are subbed to house style, checked for accuracy and appropriateness, uploaded to our content management system in the correct format and completed promptly.

What you'll be doing...

Reporting to the Premium Editor and Premium Assistant Editor, the sub-editor will deliver subbed fine wine content - long and short-form copy and wine tasting notes - for the Premium (paywall) section of Decanter's website.

You will also include picture research and photo editing of bottle shots to upload to the database and converting monthly magazine content into a digital format.

  • Knowledge of subject matter - qualified to WSET level 2 or above

  • Subbing skills (examples and references required)

  • Familiarity with Google suite - docs, sheets and similar programmes

  • Familiarity with WordPress content management systems

  • Knowledge of the digital production process

  • Knowledge of SEO

  • Knowledge of Adobe suite, Photoshop
