Full Job Description

The Surrey Sexual Health, HIV and Outreach service is looking for an enthusiastic person who has experience and knowledge of working in the community, engaging with the public to promote the use of PrEP. The successful candidate will join the busy and growing service working 22.5 hours a week, on a 12-month fixed-term contract., Surrey Sexual Health & HIV Services provide a range of sexual health services to the Surrey population including PrEP. Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is the use of antiretroviral (ART) medication by HIV-negative people to reduce their risk of acquiring HIV.

This post will operate with Surrey Sexual Health & HIV and Surrey Outreach Services to increase access to and uptake of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).

The post holder will develop initiatives to increase access to those at high risk of acquiring HIV and who are not currently in contact with sexual health services. This will be achieved through partnership with Public Health commissioners, the voluntary and community sector and through analysis of national and local data.

The post holder will work in partnership with key stakeholders to identify priority groups, raise awareness of PrEP and establish easy access pathways to Surrey sexual health services.

Support the 2030 goal of eliminating new HIV transmissions in England within the next decade.

The post holder will be required to work as an accountable practitioner working on their own in community settings, making decisions in accordance with policy and protocol.

The Surrey Sexual Health & HIV service consists of friendly teams working across Surrey with sites in Woking, Guildford, Earnsdale, several Young People Spoke clinics and an Outreach Team. We work together to provide excellent sexual health & HIV services to our patients and offer a supportive and flexible environment for team members.

The teams are supported in their professional development with regular training and clinical supervision and opportunities to expand their clinical skills.
