Full Job Description

Are you looking for a resident role in a thriving boarding community?

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Housemaster/Mistress in our Prep School boarding community on a fixed-term basis. The successful candidate will reside along with their immediate family (if applicable), in one of our most established boarding houses, and provide excellent loco parentis care to our pupils. Grimwade House is our Prep School boarding facility. It is a beautiful, purpose-built boarding house, with stunning communal areas and ample staff accommodation, but of course it is not just about bricks and mortar. The house atmosphere has a warm and friendly feel, and there is a well-established and happy team of staff working together, with the shared aim of providing excellent care for the pupils. Grimwade House is located centrally in our vast, 100-acre campus. The wider boarding community are friendly and welcoming and the boarding offering at the College is something that both pupils and staff are proud to be part of.

The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. A copy of the College's Child Protection Policy is available on the website.

Bishop's Stortford College is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children; all employees are subject to a number of pre-employment and safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check. References and an online search will be undertaken prior to interview. To this end, robust Safeguarding processes and procedures are in place to support families, pupils, staff, and volunteers. In compliance with the sharing of information guidance/best practice, any concerns are passed to designated teachers, trained in Safeguarding.
