Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Access to Personal Information Officer's to join our Access to Children's Information team on a two year Fixed Term Contract. The team is responsible for ensuring that the requirements of the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA) and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) are met, along with our statutory obligations in sharing information. You will join a welcoming and supportive team who are passionate about the work we do and are proud of our commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals in accessing their information., You will:
- Conduct and coordinate the delivery of data subject rights, including rights of access, rectification and erasure regarding children's social care records.
- Work through a significant volume of confidential documents, using IT software to redact, whilst maintaining attention to detail.
- Deal with requests from the public in a timely and consistent way with professionalism and empathy
- Provide necessary support to the requestor receiving their information, offering guidance throughout the process and the post release of files.
- Respond to requests for information from external agencies, including court orders, local authorities and other statutory or private organisations.
- Create summaries and chronologies from records in response to statutory checks.
What you'll bring: - Detailed knowledge of Data Subject Rights in accordance with the DPA and GDPR.
- Experience in understanding the needs of vulnerable children/adults and the impact social care involvement may have had on them.
- Knowledge about safeguarding, including the ability to identity potential risks in releasing sensitive data.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proven computer skills including Microsoft Office packages.
