Our Actuaries / Data scientists are on the front lines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance and reserving losses for AIG's major insurance operating companies, globally. We collaborate with Finance, Claims, Operations, Marketing and Risk Management, among other functions. As an AIG actuary, you will be challenged and encouraged to reach your greatest potential to help improve how we predict, manage and mitigate risk.

About the Role

The Pricing Actuary will be in the team looking after the actuarial support for A&H business.

The position will provide technical pricing support for new and existing products, working closely with the local and regional teams to meet deadlines and deliver quality work products. In addition, the role holder will support portfolio management work to enhance business understanding .

How you would make an impact

  • Providing actuarial support as the business require to profitably grow their business and take remedial action where needed.

  • Support the development, alignment, and execution of portfolio strategies.

  • In co-ordination with the business, monitor rates at an account/portfolio level

  • Produce pricing analysis for large accounts and schemes within agreed timescales, working closely with underwriters.

  • Ensure data used for pricing and monitoring is complete, accurate, adequate and timely.

  • Take ownership of projects

  • Coach/manage junior members of the team

  • Comply with key regulatory and risk management procedures.

  • Develop and maintain global best practices, methodological guidance, and standard rating tools and templates.

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

  • Qualified Actuary from a recognized actuarial society or qualified by experience

  • Candidates with at least 8 years of relevant actuarial experience

  • Candidates with some management experience preferred

  • Proven proficiency in actuarial pricing concepts/methodologies

  • Demonstratable experience in General Insurance

  • Expertise in Excel and knowledge/experience in working in R/Python or other programming languages preferred.
