Full Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Primary Care Team within Hywel Dda University Health Board. We are looking for a competent and dynamic individual who has a passion for service change and delivery. You will be working within a peer group of Primary Care Service Managers who are each linked to an individual Locality within the Health Board.
As a senior member of the team, you will lead operationally on the development of General Medical Services as well as working with the other Primary Care contractors in the Tywi/ Taf Cluster and provide a liaison role at County level.
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day contract management and performance management of the General Medical Services (GMS) contract and practice development for practices within their designated area; this is inclusive of Health Board Managed Practices.
Working as part of the wider Primary Care team you will be key to the implementation of new ways of working such as the development of federated practices, indicative Locality budgets and innovative service redesign, as well as providing support and guidance to Primary Care Clusters, ensuring that robust governance arrangements are in place in line with local and national agreements.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. 48 general practices (four of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres;
Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;
Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
