Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Principal Building Services Manager to support our high-performing operations team in the Northwest. Reporting to the Head of Building Services/Director you will lead the MEP operational support on our sites and contributing to the success of project delivery.,
- Provide technical support to our Design Teams as required.
- Review and shape designs produced by M&E Consultants or Supply Chain Partners.
- Lead functions of peer review MEP packages during the handover from the Pre-Construction Teams.
- Providing support to our Operational Teams.
- Visiting sites during construction on a regular basis.
- Reviewing the MEP installations for compliance against the designs, contract requirements, relevant standards/regulation, and our quality requirements.
- Assisting the site teams with any technical queries finding solutions to challenges.
- Lead the successful delivery of installation and commissioning programmes.
- Lead the team in maintaining and developing relationships with our MEP Supply Chain.
- Leading M&E discussions within Design Team Meetings, Customer Meetings, progress, and commissioning meetings.
- Leading the commissioning phase, ensuring it is delivered correctly with the use of the supply chains commissioning management or independent commissioning managers. Undertake witnessing and signing off the systems as complete on behalf of WDC.
- Supporting commercial teams.
- Maintain lessons learnt into the business and Pre-Construction Teams.
- Lead in maintaining the feedback loop into Pre-Construction Teams on Supply Chain performance.
- Collaborate with the wider business in relation to MEP services as well as across our supply chain.
- Actively support the building services department to deliver on their strategic aims.
- Mentor junior members of the team and support them to achieve their agreed goals and targets.
- Provide assistance to the quality & customer care team and find resolution to any emerging issues.
Essential Criteria: - Based in the Northwest within a commutable distance to Oldham, Manchester.
- Appropriate CSCS card.
- Valid driving licence.
- Experience playing an active leadership role which positively contributes to a one team environment, including management of direct reports.
- Excellent understanding of relevant M&E and services legislation.
- Commercial acumen - experience in supporting the development of efficient design proposals and advanced ability to interrogate Supply Chain Partner quotes.
- Proficient use of and Microsoft suite of Office programmes; inc. Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Experienced in a variety of M&E projects in a wide range of sectors.
- Managing M&E and building services teams both internally and for Supply Chain Partners within a main contractor environment. Desirable Criteria: · Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (HNC / NVQ4 etc). · Design/Estimating experience. · Achieved Membership of relevant Professional Organisation MCIOB/MCIBSE/MIET.
