Full Job Description

As a Principal Business Partner - Adoption Lead, you will ensure the adoption of an industry-leading product offering encompassing all areas of Commercial IT. You will work closely with Business Engagement Teams to develop a deep understanding of the business strategies, priorities, and challenges , ensuring that IT investment aligns with business objectives. You will partner with CIT capability leaders to ensure a cohesive approach across the entire commercial IT offerings. Working with relevant teams, you will ensure that all IT capabilities used by the function meet agreed performance outcomes and drive continuous improvement initiatives as required. Your leadership will be critical in spearheading specialist insights on change adoption processes. You will establish and maintain strong relationships with external partners, develop strategies to collaborate to deliver maximum value for AstraZeneca, and lead in IT functional/capability governance. You will also lead the Adoption team,
providing development, coaching, and line management.

  • Experience of identification and implementation of innovative technology solutions

  • Evidence of leading and developing innovative engagement strategies and plans

  • Experience of defining the business strategies and influencing the vision of senior leaders

  • Experience of leading high value business cases & mobilising high value investments

  • Experience in managing, developing and leading teams and virtual teams

  • A proven track record of delivering results

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presenting

  • High level awareness of developments in the Information Technology marketplace

  • Able to manage and lead negotiations, expectations and solutions across complex stakeholder groups

  • Expert relationship building skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives

  • Expertise in planning, change management and problem solving and able to resolve issues of a highly complex and strategic nature

  • Proven ability to relate and respond to business needs in an IT environment


  • Desirable:
  • Educated to degree level standard or equivalent (business technology or related degree)

  • Leader within pharma thought leadership networks and organisations

  • Ability to work well in and across diverse global teams and partner and work in a matrix organisation
