Full Job Description

We are delighted to advertise for a Principal Clinical Psychologist for our Manchester Older Adult Service. You will join a warm, enthusiastic and innovative service and work as a senior clinician in a team of 6 qualified and 2 assistant psychologists. As well as delivering high quality clinical assessments and interventions you will support the clinical lead in the development of new services and ensure that current services are in line with the best possible practice. You will be well supported, have excellent CPD opportunities and will be actively encouraged to participate in research. As a service we are all passionate about the needs and rights of older people, so if you feel the same, come and join us. The post holder will work clinically into one of our 3 CMHTs and work alongside the current senior clinical psychologist in the team to work directly and indirectly with clients with a range of complex difficulties. The post holder will also complete cognitive assessments to support the diagnosis of dementia as needed and will be job planned to contribute to the Manchester wide Complex Emotional and Relational Needs pathway. The post holder will work closely with clinical leads to develop services in line with national guidance and ensure that all provision is seamless, person centered and trauma informed. They will oversee relevant audits and service evaluations, and attend service meetings as needed. The post holder will provide clinical and managerial supervision for junior psychology staff and deputise for the psychology clinical lead if requested.
